They offer a lifetime warranty on the frame, 5 years on parts and electronics, and 2 years on labor. Compare this to the average 90-day to 1 year warranties provided by other companies on machines within the same price range and that should say something about the quality. Overall, the general opinion is that the Sole e35 elliptical is excellent value for the money that you pay.

… The bad, and the ugly

Now, for the bad. Many people have pointed out that the iPod speakers and cooling fan are rather weak. The speakers are unimpressive compared to the sound you can get from headphones. As for the fan, it will not produce any considerable cooling effect and just seems to be more of a gimmicky feature. However, if you have a separate fan in the room or air conditioning, that shouldn’t be a big problem anyway.

Another gripe is that although it contains 8 programs, which is more than the E25, that is still on the low side. If you want complex programs or a wide variety of them, you won’t find that here. However, to be honest, most people tend to select a few programs that they like and stick to them anyways. The heart rate monitor grips can also apparently be inaccurate when you’re moving. It’s better to use the chest strap monitor.

Lastly, since the machine is so sturdy and heavy duty (which is good and bad), it is very heavy overall and takes up quite a bit of space. In total it weighs 200 lbs and you’ll probably want some assistance from fairly strong people or you may wish to choose the in-house delivery option, otherwise it’ll be very difficult to move.
